Rental FAQs

What is included in the rental?

A perfectly prepared machine, and unlimited miles. Be sure to choose a bike best suited for your itinerary, to cover storage needs; The bikes are as shown on the website with rare differences/accommodations to carry gear and related.

What is your payment policy?

All reservations are on a prepaid basis, meaning we charge you for the full rental cost, including tax, at the time of booking. At a minimum, 24-hour advance booking is required for us to have the bike prepared and ready. We accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover, or we welcome bank wire transfers or e-commerce transfers, and we are setup to accept BitCoin (inquire).

How does the security deposit work?

When you arrive, a $999 security deposit (not a hold) will be collected, and remains until the motorcycle is returned. At which time, with no additional charges due, will be completely refunded to your credit card. Damages to the bike will be deducted from this amount. Refunds take on average of 3-10 business days, depending on your card holder. We process refunds within 24 hours of the bike’s return. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

Can I be picked up at my hotel or airport?

Unfortunately, no. We recommend services such as Lyft or Uber; Should be ~$40 from LAX.

What is your policy on fuel?

We rent motorcycles with a full gas tank of premium 91 octane fuel. The motorcycle should be returned with a full tank (or as checked out). Vehicles returned with less fuel than taken at checkout are subject to a refueling charge at current premium fuel rates plus a $20 surcharge.

What is your policy on how the bike’s brought back?

We expect the bike to return as close to how it left as possible. Basic road grime and dust, and no visible damage. For excessive dirt and grime, i.e. If the bike were ridden in the rain or off-road, would be subject to a $50 cleaning fee.

How are breakdowns or incidents handled?

We will provide you with an emergency telephone number at pick-up. In case of a mechanical issue or incident, we will arrange for towing to the nearest dealer or repair facility. Please also refer to our Terms and Conditions.

What happens if I get a flat tire?

We will provide you with an emergency telephone number at pick-up. In case of a flat tire, we will assist with towing to the nearest dealer or repair facility. Customer charges for flat tires depend on Optional Roadside Assistance/Tire Puncture Coverage. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

How old do you have to be to rent?

The minimum age to rent a motorcycle is 21 years. There is no age limit for passengers, however the passenger must be able to reach the passenger footpegs or floorboards of the bike.

What kind of driver’s license is required to rent?

You must have a valid motorcycle license to rent a motorcycle from RentAGuzzi. International customers: If your license allows you to legally ride the same type of bike in your home country, you can rent from us. The license from your country is sufficient; No international drivers license is needed.

Do you offer helmets, jackets, gloves, helmets or other accessories?

We have a VERY small/limited selection of full and open face helmets and jackets in a pinch to get you going. Helmet Rentals are $10/day. We’re happy to accept a shipment of your gear, and help get it back.

What are the hours of operation?

Generally 9-5pm, Monday-Sunday. However, since we are a small operation, we are extremely accommodating within reason. However, we do plan our schedule around yours, so please let us know of your travel plans and time of arrival, or if they change at all, including on your way to us.

Can I add additional riders to my rental?

When two people are on one bike, does the insurance cover both of them? If the two people are authorized to drive, will one insurance cover both riders?

Yes, but only with the Supplemental Liability Insurance – $1M covers both riders. Two riders; Yes, if the two people are authorized to drive, S.L.I. – $1M will cover both, but both must be present at the time of signing the rental agreement.

Can I do a one-way rental?

Unfortunately at this time, we are only geared for round-trip riders. We may be able to accommodate a retrieval of the bike within a 4-hour radius for an additional fee.

Do you rent GPS systems?

We do not. If you’d like to bring your own to mount, we’d be happy to mount it properly for you.

Do the bikes have a cigarette lighter plug to allow for a GPS to be powered from the bike?

All of our Fleet has a Tom Tom GPS feed, or we can install a USB connection only. Please let us know ahead of time, and allow extra time on arrival.

Is the rental based upon a calendar day or rental day?

Rentals are based upon a 24-hour period, and prorated up to the half day rate, than full day afterwards, provided there is no prior booking on the bike, on that day. We also offer half day rentals (4 hours only), on our V7 Stone only, Monday-Thursday. Contact us for a discount code.

Do you rent rain suits?

We do not offer rain suits. Please bring your own.

Can I take your Motorcycle across International borders?

Unfortunately, no. Our insurance only covers travel within the United States at this time.

Is there a place for me to store my luggage while renting from RideMalibu/RentAGuzzi?

Yes, we are happy to store your luggage, free of charge. It will be stored completely secure during your rental period.

Are the side saddlebags and storage on motorcycles lockable?

We offer HB soft bags on our rentals. While they do lock to the bike, access into the bags is not secure.

Will I get an orientation on how to ride?

Yes, we will be sure to cover all questions you may have about the bike. The orientation will cover all aspects of safe motorcycle operation, the clients” maintenance responsibilities & local and state laws. We may ask for you to display your riding abilities, and we reserve the right to refuse rental of our motorcycles at any time.
